Pros and cons of Simple DoF Calculator app for iPhone and iPad

Simple DoF Calculator app good for

This app does exactly what it says it does. Its simple and extremely effective when used in the field. Would reccomend to any photographer!
Downloaded the program yesterday Our camera was not in the list Yesterday we wrote to the support and today we had it included! The app works very well
As a beginner, this tool has been very helpful when going from the standard point-shoot to playing with the manual modes on a DSLR.
I like apps that do exactly what they are intended to do. The interface is straight-forward, and the results are presented in a simple pictorial way. Pleasure to use. Thank you.
Thanks for a great app - visual representation and app style also very clean and easy to understand - *extremely* responsive Support as well with respect to adding new cameras on the market sooner rather than later. Keep up the good work!
This is a simple to use DOF calculator with hundreds of listed cameras available from within the app. Very quick and intuitive controls make this app a pleasure to use. Support is quick and helpful (my camera wasnt listed - an email to the developer resulted in my camera being added to the database the same day) An excellent app that does exactly what it claims to do!

Some bad moments

Bought and paid for app. Appeared to download but no app in my phone. When I click Open in the App Store, nothing happens. Where is my purchase?
Im no genius but shouldnt you get shallower depth of field the larger the film plane? I like the interface. But if the math is wrong whats the point. I think I may have just wasted a buck.
The inability of this app to translate DOF into inches rather than fractions of a foot made me uninstall it right away and revert to PhotoCalc. Too bad, I would have really liked to give a better review to this app that tries to offer a simple tool in an elegant graphical fashion but fails due to complete laziness on the part of the developer. When Im trying to calculate DOF, I need a quick set of measurements, down to smallest increments, rather than being left with mental gymnastics.
Unfortunately the Nikon D7000 is not supported. It is not in the selection list of supported cameras even though the AppStore description claims it is supported. Disappointing. The app is easy to use and presents the data in a clean manner.
Not very useful with long focal lenses. The developer needs to accept the fact that this app for the most part will be used for manual adjustments. For example, I have a manual zoom lens (non-TTL) that covers focal lengths from 650 through 1300. There is no way to calculate a precise hyperfocal plane because the app doesnt cover that range smoothly. The app should cover long ranges in non discrete fashion, because long glass has a very shallow depth of field requiring precise calculations. Forced extrapolations or interpolations just defeat its purpose.
I did not like this app because the first thing they ask for when opening is your private information. I do not suggest anyone fall for this. Bmsolt
